Vitamin C + E

Posted by marcbr on 28th October 2008

This is the first set of vitamins i am taking daily. They are called anti-oxidants, but if you read the article below it does explain how amazing vitamin c is.

Now vitamins C and E have to be taken together. According to my naturopath, Vitamin c breaks down toxicity in your body into a lesser toxic product. The combination of this lesser toxic product with vitamin E ensures that the toxic product is completely eliminated. I wish i knew more about chemistry to understand this (i am learning)

I do take 2 x 3000 mg of vitamin C + 2 x 400ui vitamin E. This is my posology and is adapted to my condition. Always ask a naturopath what the best quantity is for you.

Another interesting thing about Vitamin C. I use it as a cold-killer. When i feel a cold coming up or even when i have one, I take more Vitamin C then normal until i get diahrea. I then stop taking the vitamin. I have done this twice now and my colds have always disapperared after 24 to 48 hours. Just amazing.

Please let me know If anyone has some link that explains this Vit C+E combination.

Monitoring your PH - 1

Posted by marcbr on 16th October 2008

This blog-thing is new to me. I did get comments from people and wanted to answer within the main blog to continue the discussions.

I am in Canada, so the creatinine ranges seem to be different then in other regions. The range here is 55 to 120 umol/L - I hover around 122/124. It was actually my Creatine that gave the Myeloma away. It was at 180 before my treatments.

I do not understand how this PH works, i am not a biologist nor chemist. I do have some basic notions about these subjects. I do understand that the body regulates itself. It needs to get rid of excess. If the urine is acid (below 7)  it removes a lot of acidity from the bodies wastes. I assume it does it the reverse when the body is too alkaline (ph>7). Why am i acid? Because of what i eat, because of the illness…?

It is here where there a lot of different opinions, depending if you speak to a doctor or a naturopath. At this point i have been able to stay drugfree for more then 1 1/2 years (but a lot of supplements), and my test result have been so good that I keep on believing my naturopath.  So i will give this Ph thing a try and see  if i can get it regulated.

Someone mentioned that the blood PH is more important - I kind of agree with it, but every document i read about indicates that the bodies really regulates so closely this ph that there is almost no change to it.

Monitoring your PH

Posted by marcbr on 14th October 2008

My naturopath proposed at my latest visit to start monitoring my urine-ph. He believes that controlling my ph at around 7 should ensures cancer does not get a chance, that it will return my Creatinine level to normal (it was 124 in sept 08 - max is 120 - close)  and keep my sugar level normal too (below 5 - it has hovered around 5.2, 5.4)

A note about sugarlevels. These are non-lineair (logarithmic) values - Same with Ph levels. Which means - if 7 is normal, 6 is not 1 point lower, but much lower in reality.

I bought these PH strips at the healthstore and always carry them in my pocket.

I have been monitoring it now for the past 2 weeks, and still have not figured out what the best eating habbit is to keep it under control.  It seems that potasium is very important to create an alkaline “buffer” - a stockpile so to speak to compensate for the acid. Potasium is found in banana and orange juice especially, so i started Orange juice today. Banana has not helped.

I have been eating very well in the past 2 weeks- lots of raw vegetables (thanks to my wife) - but still meat and potatoes/rice… I also almost completely refrain from sweets.

Comments from people trying this experiment are very welcome….
